Boilerplate.
Patacon Pisao is a Venezuelan street kitchen in New York City, serving twice-fried plantain patacones and family recipes from Maracaibo since 2005. What started as a single truck outside the Inwood nightclubs has grown to three counters across Manhattan and Queens, still smashing patacones into the early morning hours.
Twenty-one years, one corner.
In 2005, Liliana parked outside the Inwood nightclubs and fed the whole line coming out. Twenty-one years later the truck is on the same corner, and the last patacón of the night still comes off the press when the sun is coming up.
The recipes trace back to Liliana’s mother’s kitchen in Maracaibo. Everything on the menu, from the original patacón to the cachapa, still runs on that family formula.
